Vernier reluctance machine (VRM) with dc field coils in stator is a competitive rare-earth-free design for variable-speed industrial applications due to its robust structure and controllable excitation, while torque density relatively disadvantageous. To address this issue, article proposes new armature winding method VRM across two teeth. The key break the traditional principle based on flux modulation effect of fundamental harmonic, instead, reconstruct novel harmonic enhance utilization factor modulated high-order harmonics arising from unique magnetomotive force distribution By means, can be improved by 75.6% against existing poor counterpart.
